I am back - Getting Deadly Skyrim to work for SKyrim Special Edition.

Hello there, I am back at playing and modding skyrim so I thought I would revist the "Deadly Skyrim" modlist and try to get it working on Skyrim Special Edition [SSE]. I was pleased to see that most of the mods I used for the Oldrim mod list have been converted or remade for Skyrim SSE and I've set about looking at installing and testing. The saddest part of this is learning the Noir-Fogbound ENB does not work with Skyrim SSE - so the first challenge is finding a new ENB that adds a dark fantasy vibe to the game. I found that with Snakorn's Dark Fantasy ReShade. It appears ReShade another type of utility that offers shaders to games. Its new to me so I am still looking into it.   In the mean time I have added a new page to the blog that lists the mods for SSE that I will be using. The installation page, while still links to Oldrim mods, is still relevant. So be sure to follow that guid, replacing out the Oldrim mods with their SSE counterparts - appart from the Oldri

Getting it right...load order, Installation reconmendations and .DYNLOD Talk.

Hello everyone! I have been tweaking what I am calling "Deadly Skyrim" and play testing some new mods that have entered the load order. Its looking promising! There is a new video incoming which shows the play through with some really bad commentary by myself (cringe).  You tube is currently taking its time to upload it. In the mean time I want to talk load order. It is vital that certain mods get loaded in the correct order or else you will run into some of the problems I had. Notably: Land/terrain seams. BIG holes in the ground that open into a nether of nothingness (Hello Never-ending story reference). So what does this mean exactly? Well in the mod list I use some landscape enhancing mods which conflict with Alone around the Whiterun area. When installing make sure you install Alone last. Let it override anything it prompts. Installing it last isn't just going to solve conflicts though: Loading it last but before the alternate start mod is crucial. You want to

Play test - A new type of Skyrim

Image
Hello everyone, I turned my Skyrim into a Dark Fantasy/Horror survival game and this is the result! It is still a play-test as I will be adding/removing mods until I get my desired outcome but it is coming along quite well. One mod that I have removed since this play test is Hunterborn; while I like the mod it feels a bit clunky. I only had it in for the Wearable Lanterns patch which allowed for the crafting of lantern oil but I have made my own mod that does that.   Anyway watch the video and let me know what you think! -MA-
